I’ve been taking 40mg Roaccutane for 3 Weeks now and my skin is not dry at all. My GP was really surprised when i saw her, and commented on it not being dry and flakey as it should be on Roaccutane.  Has any one else been like this?

i’m somewhere in my fifth month of roac and my skin has never been dry and flaky. it’s not oily either though. the only bit i have to moisturise is around my eyes as it feels a bit papery and fragile there. my derm and pharmacist say i’m lucky. i’ll believe them if and when i don’t relapse when the course is over.

i know what you mean. Im just on week 2, taking the same amount 40mg, and my face is looking oiler than b4 i went on Rocc. Wondering aswell when its going to start kicking in. I hate looking ‘deep fried’
Good luck with your course

In response to Tania’s comment about her face being more oilier than before starting Roaccutane, my skin was extremely more oilier than before starting Roaccutane for the first two weeks, but towards the end of the second week, was not oily whatsoever, just not really dry and flakey as i was warned it would be, and if not, is this drug going to be successful for me in the long run, as Nabootheenigmas, i think, concerns are.
Thanks for wishing me luck with my course, to you also.

I started to see a whitish sheen to my face about 2 weeks in but it wasnt ever really flakey until I took my increase dose and now its generally non stop, flakey and dry. I use avene skin recovery cream to sort it tho.

I’m on week 3 and just starting to flake around the nose and other places if I rub/scratch it.

Lou - moisturiser is your best friend! I think some people moisturise several times a day when it gets really dry.
