Hi again! Apologies for missing out so many weeks - anyway here it goes!We are into Week 11 and to be honest I was hoping at this stage for my son’s skin to look slightly better then it does. His skin has improved greatly but he still gets a few spots (nothing terrible). However my son’s skin is constantly red! Ocassionally he will apply Duac or Retin A if he has a bad spot and this seems to trigger off the redness so we have decided to stop using these two creams. His forehead and nose is unbelievably clear but his cheeks are still blemished but without the spots. This can look worse when his skin goes particulary red.

At about 8 weeks my son had his first nose bleed, and thankfully no more after that. He does however still suffers from very bad dry, cracked and swolen lips.

I would love to know if anyone else has constant red skin. Your comments are appreciated.

My skin is extremely red at the moment but i’ve literally just got Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and the redness has gone down. it’s not cheap (about £10) of the net but it seems to help. Really really good on the horrible cracked lips too! Fortunately i can cover up with foundation. There are other product on the market i think they are green, my friends used to use them for anti -redness

Hi Abby - thanks for your advice. We have found that if my son applies anything to his face (incuding various moisturisers) this will make his face red or even redder! If there is any product out there which does not have this effect I would love to know!

Hey Sue,

The Eucerin range have some “redness relief” creams including a soothing cleanser and a redness relief moisturiser. I haven’t used them myself, but I have been impressed by the other Eucerin products I have used so they might be of some help.

Also, I used to use a cream called “fade out facial redness remedy”. It was tinted green to conceal the redness and I found it to be quite effective, it made my face look less blotchy.

Hope this helps!
