hi all,

okay so i had my derm appointment yesterday evening, and he said i am making good progress WOOP WOOP!! i had 3 spots that came up 2 days ago but they are subsiding now they feel quite big too. I had an interview yesterday and it was nice not having to worry about my skin or them thinking that i have bad skin etc.
I stayed up my mum this pass two days and because im blonde i forgot to take my tablets with me, i really have to stop being lax a daisy and at least try to have a brain. Anyway my derm gave me 10 week prescription, i have about anither 2 weeks left from my first one so 3 more months left for me.god that sounds such a long time :(
my derm said that the longer you stay on Roac the better the results will be but god do i want it to be over and done with already! he also said that you shouldnt really put anything atall on the skin - no mouisturizers, cleansers because the roacc will do its job alot better without the skin having to content with that. He said its like driving a car with the handbreak on, you can do it but in not the best. he also said that if i do have very dry skin (which i dont at the moment)that its better to reduce the dose if needs be rather than mouisturize. i was kinda suprised at that because a) i have spent a small fortune on skin stuff and B) i thought that moisturising goes with out saying on roacc! but i will try it his way as he is the expert and i will only be using sunblock and drinking lots of water. He also said that i should see a greater improvement in the last half of my course so fingers crossed.

Had some sad news on Monday - my auntie had unexpectedly died over the weekend, that’s really upsetting but keeping myself occupied keeps my mind from wondering.

So, side effects this week: feel quite tired, no dryness as yet, my lips are looking crumpled and they peel as soom as i look at them. I went to the gym the other day and my joints seemed to be okay i think i was a bit more achy than usual but that could be in my head. eyes are still a bit red. trying hard to eat healthily.

Skin; looks fine although i do have a few spots the rest of it looks really clear.

Hope everyone is doing okay,

PS - question for the girls - Im having my hair coloured tomorrow, has everyone been okay with going to the hair dressers?

:) x

I am now on day 13 (so early days)! Coloured my hair on day 8 with nice an easy (as i usually do) but to my horror woke up the next day with sore crusty scabs all over my scalp! When the colour was on my hair it was tingling a lot but had no idea it was gonna do that. Im thinkin about havin highlights again (I colour my hair a brunette atm) as i feel highlights will be better as the bleach doesnt go onto the scalp in the same way as an all over colour.
Good luckxxxElliexxx
P.s am breakin out in spots but they do seem to dry up much more quickly than usual!

Hi Becky,
My Derm has said the same thing. Try not to moisturise! I’m like wtf?! Not moisturise when I wake up and bits of my face are hanging off! He offered the same advice: to combat the dryness I should reduce the dose at my own discretion. But then I will have to stay on the meds longer: argh! decisions decisions. xx
