Well I had my first monthly appointment with my derm today. I say ‘my’ derm, well what I really mean is withj the third different derm i’ve seen since I’ve been prescribed this stuff. I don’t see what the point is in seeing a different derm every time I go, how are they even going to know if I’ve made any improvement or not? :(

So that annoyed me slightly. I’ve had one of those days tbh - had my induction at my new job this morning which went well. When I looked in the mirror in the morning I noticed I had really peely skin on my chin but I exfoliated and didn’t think much of it. When I came out of the induction 4 hours later I had bloody skin practially hanging off my face! God knows how long it had been like that for…great first impression!!!

I’ve really been feeling the dryness this week, for the first time really. I’ve always got terribly dry lips when I wake up in the morning, it feels like the water has just been sucked right out of them! And of course the dry skin which peeled for the first time today (and looked so obvious as I had makeup on).

Got a bt miffed as well as the derm told me I was likely to be on the roac for 24 weeks not the 16 weeks that the previous derm told me!!! So upset, I wanted to be able to relax and get merry over Xmas. It looks like I’m going to be taking these through into the start of Feb 09!!!! How depressing.

Have swtiched now to simple face wash and i’m now also using st ives apricot scrub in the morning as it buffs off any dry dead or peeling skin and it therefore doesn’t show under makeup :D

Until next week……..blah

Xxx

Hey Alison,

I can totally relate. When I come home from work, or pop to the toilet after/during a meeting at work and see the state of my skin (hanging skin!) I cringe at the thought of how long I have looked such a state in front of so many people! arghhh!

Won’t be forever tho! Hang-in there (’scuse the pun teehee).

I don’t think they’ll remember that when your skin is perfect!

Also, I tried the St Ives scrub (used to use it before roacc, I really like it) but it didn’t seem to agree with me when I’m on roacc. Haven’t used it in a while so can’t remember exactly what happened but it was a nice feeling.

I use the simple moisturising face wash though. Ironically, I find it leaves my skin quite dry!

Hope the job stays good!

Hmmm, love that whole check state of skin in the loo and realise you have been looking ‘interesting’ I have to say, no-one gets as close to you face to face as you do in the mirror!!!

AJ - I’m really liking St Ives scrub at the moment! I’ve never used it before and I’m using the one for combination skin and it doesn’t seem to be irritating my face or anything when I use it.

I must say though, the peely skin is coming and going. Had about a week without it and now it’s back with a vengence!!!
