Hi All!

Ok so last week (week 2) my blog was pretty upbeat, my skin was clearing and the dryness was manageable.

Week 3 and hurrah still a relatively clear looking face with only little scars across my cheeks. HOWEVER, the dryness has worsened….it is still manageable however on Tue I slept in for work and forgot to moisturise and within hours I had that classic roaccutance dry face which demonstrates just how religious you have to be with the old moisturiser. The dryness has made my skin very peely yet this is still not getting me down, my skin still looks soooo much better so my mood remains upbeat!

One thing I will say is my poor little nose is in complete pain at all times, its very dry and bloody inside and this can be at times unbearable. The solutions…..a box of cotton buds and a tub of Vaseline, I know its a bit nasty but it really does the trick! Lips are still dry as ever but hey…I knew that would happen so im fine with it!

Derm appointment next wed (the 13th) they plan to put me up to 70mg a day. Im cautious of this, my skin is clearing and my skin is drying out big time…is increasing my dose by 30mg going to help matters or is it a possible case of over prescription. I know your dosage corresponds to your weight but maybe my skin is reacting well at 40mg. I really hope they take this on board when they see me. All comments on this welcome, Does the derm take into consideration the current condition of your skin when you visit or are they strict to keep you on the initial planned course?

See y’all next week.

hiya clarabelle,
from what i understand the derm will definitely take note of how your skin is improving so far, but if they don’t hit it hard the acne is more likely to come back after a few weeks of stopping roac. if they up your dose and it’s too strong they will take the dose down again to reach a balance cos everyone’s different and reacts differently. so my derm assured me anyway.
