Well, I am amazed that I have somehow managed to get through the past 3 weeks without any adverse side effects. I mean, yes my skin is dry, and yes my lips are dry, but the dry skin is only visible when I’m wearing makeup (and even then only a little) and my lips aren’t sore, chapped, or cracked. I was really scared that going up from 20mg to 60mg would cause a massive breakout or horrendous side effects, but nothing of the sort.

I realise that my skin could turn on me any day soon, but at the moment I’m really happy with the progress! I don’t want to tempt fate but I also haven’t had any new spots in about 10 days..i.e since the ‘initial breakout’ which wasn’t actually that bad, which is WHY i didn’t know if it was the big bad breakout or not.

Last Friday I think it was, I went out without my carmex all day - bad idea! By the time I got home my lips had begun to sting a little and felt like they had swollen up! I looked like angelina jolie! (sort of). I plastered it on all the next day and by that evening they’d returned to normal :)

I went out on sat night and ended up drunk after about 6 drinks (really naughty i know) and i didn’t have the best of nights as i became quite moody for some reason. I’m just going to have to be really really careful once I get back to uni where alcohols concerned.

I also really really love not having to wash my hair hardly at all! This will sound disgusting but last Tuesday I washed my hair and didn’t wash it again until Saturday!!! Because it really didn’t need washing at all! And today is wednesday and I’m just about to do it again. It really is fab only having to wash my hair every five days..it just doesn’t need it.

See ya next week! x

Your lucky that its gone so well so far…. i hope it remains the same! Im not an expert but i reckon you’ll need to be on it for a lot longer for a long term cure. Ive been drinking quite alot aswell though, ive been fine but my mate had a MAJOR mood swing once and got violent, just a warning. My derm said i was fine for a few drinks at a time, but i think i may have killed my liver with a holiday binge ( :

I hope you continue to have it easy… much luck!

Hehehe don’t worry i love the not having to wash my hair part just as much as you! I used to have to wash it everyday because while i’ve got quite alot of hair it is still quite fine and gets greasy quite fast once it gets straightened! Now i can even straighten it the night before and it feels fine for a bout 3 days afterwards!
Good luck with your course!

sitot - my derm has put me on a 16 week course because my acne is only mild on my face (but persistant), it’s alot worse on my back tho. I’ve got my 4 week appointment next week tho so I’m hoping he doesn’t tell me I have to be on it any longer when I see him! Yeah I know, i’m just gonna be dead careful when I’m drinking at uni (at least I’ll save some money!!!)

Leigh - I know, it’s fab not having greasy hair! Why can’t it just naturally be like this…hmph! I’m wondering if the condition of my hair will improve over the next 3 months too because I won’t be washing and therefore straightening it as much?!
