A few new spots this weeks including a massive eruption on my chin. What is more alarming though is at the side of my mouth I have developed a crack which has become full of a rather unpleasant yellow substance (not pus - I think it is just part of the scab, or what should be a scab because it doesn’t want to dry up). Sorry to share such revolting information but I’m wondering if anyone knows what to do about it?

Cheers

yes babe ive got it too. Its called angular stomitis- just go to the doc and tell him you’ve got it and they’ll prescribe some hydro cortisone cream for you and maybe some vitamin pills. It cleared mine up but about a month after it’s come back again!

Yeah, I had that too - first I just tried to put lots of vaseline/ blistex on, but I think this just spread it to the other side of my mouth!

Its either a bacterial or fungal infection. I went to the pharmacy and they gave me some antifungal cream to put on it which cleared it up. You have to continue using the cream for 2 weeks after you think its gone to make sure it doesn’t come back.

Later I went to the docs for another reason, and told him about it and he said if its yellow and crusty its a bacterial infection and prescribed some antibacterial cream incase it comes back! Luckily it hasn’t!

Thanks guys, hope your treatment is going well. Just back from hols and that ‘thing’ is looking even worse. I can’t even smile properly because it keeps re-cracking! Off to the doc tomorrow to get some cream xx
