I’ve got just over 2 weeks left of taking roaccutane and over the last few weeks I’ve noticed my chest feels tight and I’ve been struggling to breath. Has anyone else encountered a side effect like this? I’m wondering if this is the roaccutane at all or may be something else. Not sure if I should go and see my GP instead of waiting to see th derm next week.
Its been a long couple of months and I won’t say its been easy - I’m counting the days down till I come off and start my life again with much improved skin. In fact I’d go so far as to say its flawless at the moment! Fingers crossed it will stay that way!
Good luck everyone - its not an easy time!

Lucy - defo check with your GP if you are that worried, but if you are stressed it could be a key problem… often causes that tightness of chest. how long have you been on it?

Hi Lucy, I’ve been suffering from wheeziness (I’m 8 weeks into the course). It’s worse if I push myself i.e. cycling up hills. It’s not there every day and I wondered whether it was Roacc or Hayfever. I’ve never suffered before with hayfever. My Derm is keeping me on the 30mg because of it. It does make my chest feel tight and I now have an inhaler for those times.

Thanks for your feedback - I saw my Gp today today who generally checked me over and said I was ok and that I should come off the ROAC and see if I feel better! I’m thinking now that perhaps I’m a little anxious which may be causing it but I honestly can’t think of anything that could me causing me to be stressed.
I really don’t want to come off the ROAC as I’m so close to the end and I wouldn’t want to jeopardise months of hard work.. I might just put up with it and just hope it doesn’t get any worse.
Thanks again!
