Thank you, kindly for your support and advice. It restores my faith in the human race when people I don’t know take the time to help me : )

To put my problem in context, I had acne as a young teen which was treated with lotions and potions and then Dianne 35ED (contraceptive pill for acne). The pill worked wonders for about 12 years (yes, I am near 30 now) and then I got issues with pigmentation and digestive system (liver & gut), so I changed to a low dose pill for 4 months before stopping completely. I have been pill free for 2 months, in which time my skin has decided to hate me : ( I naturally freak out and run to the dermatologist. Whether my skin issue is reacting to crazy hormonal fluctuations or just being itself remains uncertain…

I have had a pretty rough few days, followed by a tantrum - such that I have decided to try one more avenue before going on to roaccutane. I am trying ‘Blue Light’ treatment for 5 weeks in combination with a skincare program (involving glycolic acid), accupuncture (for hormones) and super clean diet - if no result then I’ll go back on a lower dosage. Obviously the alternative is a bit pricy, but then I think ‘how much is my sanity worth?’ I can deal with a bit of pain and discomfort, but when its your psychology that is at risk I think that is cause for concern.

So if you are interested, I will certainly keep you up date with my progress. I am not sure how our ’sponsors’ will react to this though.

Good luck strong people!

Mel

Good luck Melodie, in my view anything is worth a try! I would definately like you to keep us updated as I was looking into laser treatment myself, but my derm said that I wasnt suitable for it because my acne was too deep (cystic) so it would be a small improvement but would not eradicate it…she did say that it had a better effect on mild acne which was in the very top layer of the skin though, but she said I could possibly look into a different laser treatment to improve scarring when my roac course has ended! What sort of acne do you have and which laser treatment are you going to have?? Anyway fingers crossed and good luck! x
