Yesss I’m finished! I finished on boxing day or something and it’s been a week or so and I’m totally happy with my skin and I think roaccutane was 100% worth it although 2 weeks I wouldn’t of said that! 2 weeks ago I was worried about coming off these after only 4 months of 20mg in the first month and then 50mg for the next 3 months but my skin hasn’t broken out again and it’ll continue working for the next month. I experienced side effects like eczema, flakeyness, night-vision going, general tiredness, and sore joints but it was only for a short period and I think if you have bad skin you know it’s worth it, people with nice skin don’t see it as I’ve experienced but if you are contemplating going on it – do it. Even after these few days my eczema has gone and I’m getting softer by the day. My face isn’t oily either though which is amazing! I have a check-up in two weeks and hopefully all is well and I’m done. Fingers crossed it stays this way xxx

hey im so happy to read this, i am going to start next week so i was getting more and more nervous. i wanted to ask what moisturiser u are using, and if after roaccutane u will use moisturisers with oil in it, as so many ppl have told me to use only oil free ones, but im unsure. anyways congrats! xxx

Heey..I was extremely nervous too, as I read up on the side effects too much and just thought I would die taking my first pill. You’ll be fine, just talk to your doctor about aaany questions as that’s what I wish I’d done more
I started off using this overly expensive moisturiser by Eve Lom and it was good but really thick and didn’t actually moisturise my skin and then I moved on to just using e45 the one for ‘dry skin conditions’ that I was using on my body and that was the best I’d used!! I think it’s fine to use moisturisers with oil in them though as I read some people used bio-oil but I wasn’t keen on that. You may also want to invest in Oilatum or some sort of cream to use in the bath or shower if you get scaley but that didn’t really happen to me until after a month or so? Good luck xxxx

Nice to hear your story. I’m starting on it tommorow (heavy new year so letting liver rejuvinate a bit!). There are so many horror stories out there on the net about roaccutane, funnily enough most of them seem to be written by people who have ‘had a friend on it’ or ‘heard it got banned’. Then you get the comments like ‘I don’t understand why people take a drug that wrecks your organs for a few spots’ and ‘people can be so vein’. So its great to come on here with people who have ACTUALLY taken it and understand why you wanna take it too
Have to admit I’m getting nervous now the day has come! Not looking forward to the stares if my skin gets really dry! aaaaah
good luck everyone xxx

hey thanks just read ur reply now, yh i know i think iv read so many horror stories and about the side effects i feel like im gonna really suffer when i start lol, but i guess theres no point being scared as most people who go on roacc seem to be fine. my sisters friend who is 31 told me she went on roacc when she was 18 for 4 months, and she’s never had any acne ever since! so i guess we can expect great long lasting results lol. about the moisturiser, i think im going to stick to the simple range, and the oilatum aswell, i heard that was really good for dry skin. anyways tc x
