Hi all, I’m Robby am 16 year old girl and i have just started Roaccutane!!!! It is a bit exciting seen as i am just over 2 weeks into my treatment and there has already been changes.I’ve had spots since i was about 12 - 13. They were just little ones but then they started to get worse and my confidence dropped, i started getting really quiet at school etc…

I’ve been on countless number of over the counter products and pills prescibed by my GP. I got told to go to a dermotoligist but i put it off because i was too embarassed but then i decided to go and it’s the best choice i made.

My skin is very very dry i am using intensive care moisturiser and one called ’simple’. My lips are dry as well.

I was just wondering if any of you had a sore throat? I don’t know whether it’s the drug or a cold.

My Doctor said something about eyes becoming puffy and sore as well which mine have :/

Am sometimes emotional but i put that down to being a stroppy teenager :P

Well, i am so glad i have found this website as a young girl and seeing all my friends with lovely skin i have no body really to let it all out too. so thankyou!

I wish you all the best of luck
and it’d be nice to hear from one of you!

All the best xxx

Good luck - I’m about the same stage, but 24 years of old - only started getting bad spots about 2 years ago!

No sore throat for me, but a few other people on this site have mentioned it - I think maybe some people get that!

Just super dry lips and achy knees!

Keep positive,

Jess

Wow i just started taking Roaccutane yesterday and reading this really helps. I read through the information that the dermatologist gave me and i was pretty horrified, it mentioned all the usual dryness but also stuff like hair loss and hearing voices ! ! ! i was worried about the mood swings part of it was well but i think im a pretty positive person so hopefully i can get through that with out any trouble, but hearing that it has been so much better for you already makes me want to stick with it ! because your right theres nothing worse than being with a load of friends who have amazing skin and have no idea who to really talk to about this stuff so Good luck ! ! ! ! ! !
