Hi,

I know i’m yet to complete my first week but have already noticed some changes and wanted to get some advice on a few things…so here we go….

I’m beginning to resemble a reptile (!!!) and while its manageable and I can deal with it - I just wondered, is this likely to go on the whole course? Also I’ve been using E45 and just a gentle cleanser but my skin is looking a bit red and where its healing burns slightly if I get the e45 on it, does anyone else have this?

I’m off on holiday next week and have stocked up on all sorts of sun protection - I think I’m getting obsessed! I’m back the day of my second Derm appointment so hopefully all goes well.

Hope everyone is doing well, I really enjoy reading your experiences - find it really helpful!
xx

E45 burned my face - I have always had sensitive skin but I’d never had that reaction to the lotion before. Try Simple Moisturiser, that was great for me. Yes the scaly skin is normal, I’ve found that it comes and goes once of twice a week but only in patches, not my whole face.

It’s amazing how quickly Roaccutane starts working. I’m at the end of Week 5 and my skin is baby soft - it’s fab! Still get a few tiny dry patches and redness but overall I’m delighted so it is worth it all.

Enjoy your holiday!

Hi Sally.

i’m also on day 4 today. Thats a shame about the effects mixing with your holiday, i went on holiday last week, so i asked me dermatologist if i could start the course after the holiday.

I haven’t yet got the dry skin effects, but i’m not looking forward to it, but it’s all worth it in the end.

Hope you have a nice holiday.

Heya, ive been on roaccutane for a year, coco butter works a treat for dry skin and i use a night moisturiser for general use from the body shop for my face as it is a lot thicker

Thanks guys, Lor I’ve moved on to the Simple regenerist range which seems to be going really well so far. My face looked really badly wind burnt all last week enough for several people to comment… I’m still peeling abit and certain patches peel everytime I have a shower so its struggling to heal. I’ve tried Sudocream tonight as it says its good for sunburn, minor burns and Acne of all things… Hopefully i’ll be less flaky by Monday!

Will, did you find you burnt more easily? I can’t really complain as I know it could be so much worse… will just stay out of the sun and wear my factor 30, thankfully its an active holiday rather than a beach one which is lucky!!

I’m drinking over a litre of water a day which I think helps, although am feeling bloated a lot….not sure if this a side effect or I’m becoming a fat pants!!

Take care and wish you all well

i went on holiday just before i started the tablets so i don’t know about burning, but my dermatologist says for me to stay out of the sun.

I drink a lot of water, water does make you feel more full apparently
