Hey everyone,
Well, I still haven’t had any new spots, apart from a small one which is going already. The marks and scabs are gradually clearing, despite my constantly attacking them! I almost feel guilty for picking, I wish I could learn to co-operate with my skin instead of making healing as difficult as possible for it… It seems surreal that the same body that heals also picks away all the hard work it’s done!
Skin is looking good, one side is completely clear. The only real problem is the cracks in the corners of my mouth. One side has just about healed now, but the other is still painful and noticeable. I expect this side-effect will quickly die down once I come off Tane! Not long now… can’t believe how quickly the last 17 weeks have gone.
My eyesight has definitely worsened over the treatment and it was the only thing that ever made me consider coming off Tane… I struggle with reading from both the computer screen and books, an issue I never had before. I have also found that my sight during driving has been affected, not considerably, but I do find myself blinking and squinting far more than I used to! This side-effect I was not happy with at all and subsequently did some research on it and found that a lot of people on Roaccutane have found similar problems, some people’s eyesight returning back to normal after treatment finishes, others not. A risk worth taking? Ask me in a year.
Well, it’s not quite over yet so they’ll be a couple more updates but I’m reaching the end, and it’s a relief…
Hope everyone is well,
Nina, x
