Any ideas girls on what make-up to use when on Roaccutane treatment. I work face to face with customers so not covering up just isn’t an option. Does make-up make the dry skin work?I’m still unsure if i’m going to go on this, but I think it’s my only choice. The scarring is so bad now that something has got to be done.

Any advice on how you’ve managed to cover up and deal with the dry skin whilst working would be much appreciated.

Hey Suzie,

Whilst on Roaccutane I switched to a creamier foundation. I would moisturise thoroughly before applying my foundation (Simple rich replenishing moisturiser is an excellent base). This made my foundation go on smoother. The foundation I used was called “Loreal true match super-blendable perfecting foundation”. It is a nice creamy formula that adjusts to the colour and texture of your skin. You can also buy specific hydrating foundations sich as “Rimmel hydrasense flawless hydrating make-up”. After applying my foundation I would then dab a cover up stick by rimmel on any red marks not effectively covered by the foundation. I have also heard that the new mousse concealer by maybelline is good.

I think the key is to moisturise thoroughly before you even start applying any make up, other wise it goes on patchy and un-even.

Hope this helps :-)

oooohhh that’s the foundation I use anyway (the Loreal one), here’s hoping I don’t have to change as is suited my skin well. Went on nice and didn’t show my greasiness after a few hours too bad.

I work with the public too (children who don’t hold back!!) so I understand where you are coming from.

Good luck if you go on the treatment :)

Hi Suzie, This is a problem I had within the first week of taking the pills. I normally use clinique pore smoother foundation, really heavy and oil absorbing, unfortunately it just emphasised the dry patches so I got the new one which is Clinique super moisture, it is still a bit dewy for my liking but then my skin isnt too dry really, and after years of avoiding the dreaded shine its difficult to get used to. Its coverage that you can build up which is good, I also still use powder but find I dont have to touch my makeup all day now which is flippin fantastic.

i cant really help on the make up side of this, but i’ve been using a simple moisturiser that balances oil and “mattifies”. i’ve noticed that it makes my scars much less visible and noticable
