Hi everyone! *waves*
It’s been two months since I took my last pill, and I have good news: It’s still working! I was afraid that my face would erupt as soon as I stopped taking Accutane, but everything still looks good.

There is NO WAY I would have worn red lipstick eight months ago.
In case you want to know what Life After the Pills might be like, this was my experience:
- Two weeks after: My mouth and eyes began to feel normal again. My skin became a bit less fragile. I was losing more hair than usual. NO SPOTS.
- One month after: My skin looked great and only felt slightly little dry. I applied pressed powder in the morning and never needed to reapply it. I had a few clogged pores. They were invisible, but I could feel them. In the past, I would have picked them until they turned into big red zits. This time I left them alone, and they were gone in a day or two. My period came two weeks late. I think this was related to stopping the Accutane. I lost handfuls of hair during every shower. NO SPOTS.
- Two months after: I am still happy with the way my skin looks, and it isn’t as dry as it was last month. I apply pressed powder in the morning, and I need to reapply it again at the end of the work day. My period was still out of whack, and came only three weeks after the previous one. My hair is noticeably thinner than it was before Accutane. STILL NO SPOTS.
I wonder if the hair loss is related to Amnesteem. I took Sotret for five months. It made me depressed, but I didn’t lose an abnormal amount of hair while I took it. During my last month, I took Amnesteem. I felt happy, but that is when my hair began to thin. I hope my hair doesn’t become any thinner. Does anyone know if I can expect the hair I’ve lost to grow back?
My daily routine has changed. I used to hide behind my bangs (uh, I mean fringe?) and wear a mask of concealer, foundation, blush, and powder. Now I’ve grown my bangs out. I wear cream blush and a bit of pressed powder on my nose and forehead. I don’t fret over my appearance the way I did before. I don’t feel like I need to hide my face.

I have very faint scars on this cheek, but they are fading.
I hope that everyone else is as happy as I am with their results. Good luck to you!!

Jen, you are so beauftiful, I was scared that your absence from the site meant you were not happy with your results but look at you! it’s amazing
The period messing up is bizarre, cos Iwas pretty regular until I stopped the tablets but have only had one period since finishing……(nb, defo not preggers)
after two and a half month off the tablets I am starting to get the odd blackhead and clogged pore which don’t really form into spots, but it is so hard to resist picking. one lipline blackhead had to be dealt with because these buggers do not go away of their own accord…I wonder if gentle weekly exfoliation would be a good idea?
are you using any topical creams now to ensure the acne doesn’t return?
I hope boyond all hope that your skin remain s clear and that you can get on with your life without the constant nagging fear that you need to hide your face behind hair and makeup. I never beleived my partner before that I look prettier without makeup on, but I guess Its been so long that Ive used makeup to hide the massive imperfections that I can’t beleive that the natural state is good enough for public display!
take care sweetie,

Hi Jen,
You look sooooooooo pretty in your pics. Im on my 4th month since finishing and have only had a few tiny tiny spots but then they vanished over night. Like you i’m now making a conscious effort not to pick. My hair is really thin too, it breaks off when it gets to about 3/4 inches long so it feels quite tufty, I took Beacon brand. Also periods are a little irregular still and very painful more than before, but hoping it will all sort itself out. My skin is back to being quite oily but not quite as much as before, I dont like being oily but I guess it keeps the wrinkles away when I’m old!
I wish I had kept a diary of my time on roaccutane too.
Hope your well, you look fantastic (im jealous!)

Hi Jen, you look fabulous!! So much more confident from your early pictures
) I finished my tablets 4 weeks ago and my hair is coming out by the handful when I was it, this really worried me so I am glad that its not only me taht has had this problem. I thought I’d end up with bald patches!! I have had a few little spots but nothing major and they have cleared really quickly.
I hope we all stay spot free!!

Hi Jen,
You are looking fantastic, well done you. It’s good to know it’s still working. I’m currently stressing on the one spot that has appeared n my jaw line, also making a conscious effort not to touch it! It’s not huge and I’m sure it’ll go soon. I have noticed a bit more hair than normal coming out, but my hairdresser wasn’t too concerned, I was on the beacon brand, as for my period I’ve not stopped the pill yet, so lord only knows what will happen. My hair needs washing every day…boo hiss! I could leave it 2 days, but it looks really lank and gets a tad greasy by the end of the day. My skin is pretty normal, not dry not greasy, weird! So like being on the roacc we all end up different off it.
Take Care
