The first month has gone by pretty quick and I would say I am happy with how things have been going. My lips and face are definately drier but as bad as I thought and its good not being oily to be honest. My skin is looking a bit better I think. This week I had quite a big spot on my right cheek but this is almost dried up already.

Saw my new derm on wednesday who is bumping me up to 60mg for the next 2 months because my side effects have been fine - although I’m sure that will change! One thing my blood tests did show, however, was an increase in cholesterol from 5 to 5.4. Apparently 5 is really bad as a base line anyway for a 21 year old so I think he was more concerned with my overall diet than the roaccutane. I’ve vowed to go on a low fat diet because I really don’t want to come off this drug and this is going to be really difficult for someone who loves their fatty food - I can eat it without putting on weight so I never had though about diet before. It’s going to be as hard as the non drinking (which I lapsed on last night when I got fairly drunk by the way but I’m gonna try and keep that knocked on the head).

Anyway, I’ll start the 60mg on Monday when I pick up the prescription and I’ll let you know next week what changes have occured - i’m sure there will be some pretty big ones in terms of dryness!

Hope everyone is well and getting through their treatment ok!

Good luck with that, mate. I’m seeing my dermo for the monthly check-up on Monday and now I’m worried about my cholesterol! I rarely eat take-away or fry-ups so I hope I’m OK. I’m another one who can eat what he wants without putting on weight, but I guess we don’t realise what we’re doing to our blood stream with all the bad eating.

Keep off the booze! Trust me!

Yeah see I’m usually pretty bad with the old take away’s and fry ups and I do not exercise either so I don’t know how I’m not fat. Obviosuly its taking its toll inside the body. I suppose I’ll just have to try to be healthy for the next few months at least!

Cheers for the comment mate.
