My weblog Reclaim Your Skin has been running for just over three months now and as expected, progress has been slow. I expected slow progress because Reclaim Your Skin is an unusual niche and has a small target audience. Blogging is completely new to me and with the help of some exceptional bloggers I am learning all the time.
In this blog post I am going to look back at one aspect of my life which hopefully, will help my readers (and me) understand why I started Reclaim Your Skin.
I’ve suffered the horrible disease “acne†half my life, severe through the important teenage years and mild through to my twenties.
Acne is an extremely unfortunate reaction to the skin – it is demoralizing and brings down your self-esteem. When I had severe acne it felt like a public debilitating camouflage to what’s inside. I was a social outcast - I felt trapped and spent most of my time locked away indoors and when I did venture outside I found it difficult looking people in the eye.
Ok that’s the depressing stuff out of the way. From my experience, I know acne is manageable if you preserve. Everyone’s skin is different so whether it’s changing your diet, daily routine or even trying topical treatments there is a solution which can work for you.
In 2007, I hope Reclaim Your Skin’s readership will continue to grow - I will add a newsletter and a free downloadable e-book. Most importantly, I hope I can continue to provide support and advice for acne sufferers.
P.S This post is part of a writing project over at Problogger.net - thanks Darren for a great competition.
