well my story is quite wierd so far. i began roacc on 19th december 2007 and continued to take them for 6 months. On 25th june i was supposed to go and see my derm, however i had an exam on that day so i missed my appointment. On all the leaflets i was given about Roacc, it said that treatment only usually lasts for up to 6 months and then you have to have a 2 months break from them. So when it came to my 6 month deadline, i had to make my own decision whether to stop taking Roacc or not, as my derm could not give me another appointment until late septermber. As i am quite young to be on Roacc and my body is not as strong as an adults and may not be able to cope for as long, i decided that it is better to be safe than sorry and came off the Roacc.

My face began to clear up since i came off Roacc, however my cheeks did not so when i went back to my derm in september i knew i would be back on Roacc. My derm told me that i was wrong to take a break, and he also told me that if i would have taken a break then my acne would be gone my now. This upset me alot, especially as i also got told that it may take 2 years for my scars to go. Though, in my opinion i believe i was best to have a break as it gave my body a chance to get back to normal.

Right now i am back on Roacc for a month and a half and my derm has told me that when im finished i will no longer have to go back and see him. So thats me, officially discharged. And once im finished these:

hopefully it will be goodbye Roaccutane and goodbye acne!

FOREVER!

fingers crossed :D

its reasonable clear apart from my cheeks :)
yeah i couldn’t cope without my make-up lol, but i dont wear it for school :) i use an oil free foundation and i make sure i put it on with a foundation brush so oil from my hands doesnt go onto my face. i find little things like that help :)
so are you on Roacc or are you going on them soon?

Keep on trekkin through it.
It can become disheartening when this happens especially how so many people seem to have their acne cured in the 4month course and be side effectless the whole time.

I’m on my 3rd course of roac and didnt think other people wud have been in it this long.
I too took a break, my dermo was alot nicer though and didn’t give me a choice and therefore no blame.

Good Luck
