Hey everyone,

Well I am delighted to tell you that I have moved from 30 mg - 65 mg today!!! I weigh 61 so its quite a jump but this 1st 5 weeks have been so horrible and skin just gone ballistic! Saw derm today who willingly agreed to increase me. I’m so pleased as my skin is significantly worse since starting this treatment.

No other news really - I am expecting dramatic side effect escalation………any advice. Have people had terrible break outs / massive side effects when doubling their doses??

Hope you are all doing well and speak soon,

Katie xx

Hey Katie!
I’m on 70mg per day, quite a high dose to start with. I’m in week 2 of the course, but have suffered no significan breakout (yet). Just dry skin, sore lips, itchy scalp and achey back! All in a very short period of time. So i reckon the side effects you are experiencing at the moment will most likely be exacerbated. But at least it shows the drug is getting into your body successfully! :-) Glass half full! :D

Good Luck & Best wishes x

I (like you by the sounds of it) spent my first 4 weeks on half dose at 30 mg. I noticed no difference until it was increased at week 5 to 60 mg. I only really had dry lips before upping the dose. My skin was a lot drier though after the increase (mostly my arms and legs). However, nothing that moisturiser hasn’t fixed!
I had a massive breakout during the first 4 weeks. I didn’t get any worse with the increase dose and in about a week on the higher dose I really saw a big improvement.
I hope it goes well!

Katherine and Andy,

Thanks so much guys for your comments - honesty today has prob been my worst day on treatment so far - my skin is just awful. I just feel like crying all the time, but reading these posts has made me feel better - I’m praying that this time next week at the higher dose things will have improved.

Thanks again x
