Hi
Its been 11 days now, I’m a bit late with week 1 as I’ve been away on a course. On day 4 I woke up with an outbreak on the top corner of my forehead, about 6 spots 2 huge ones. It was so painful it felt like I had bumped my head and had a huge bruise. A couple of days later my lips cracked and my skin started to peel, over the next few days the peeling was really really bad. I got some aqueous cream and its hugely helped, it was like I had bad sun burn. The only improvement I’ve noticed is that a small patch on my nose which is normally covered in blackheads has reduced and the whole nose is starting to look better.
There is still heaps but it is a start.
There has been no more or less spots than normal, but the blackheads on the rest of my face seem to becoming to the surface and are more noticeable.

Looks like things are starting to happen now and long may it continue.

Hi Di,

Do you know if roaccutane completely gets rid of all your blackheads and scars?

Hi

I’ve been on Roac for 5 weeks now. The blackheads on the tip of my nose have all gone and the rest have reduced in size but there is still a few stubborn ones. Its a big improvement and I am hoping they all will go.

My acne has changed over the 13 years from huge pusy spots to blackheads all over, cysts and one type that I just found out is called milla or something like that which is similar to what new born babies get. Its like a white head without a proper head as such. I have these on the side of the chin. If you squeeze them they just come back the next day. Its the never ending spot that lasts years and is only really noticeable if you look closely. They are better than huge spots but in combination with black heads and huge open pores my complexion is very unsightly.

My scarring is not to bad considering how bad my acne was a few years ago. Now on the roac my checks are scaring pretty easily and leave red marks. What ive been using at night amongst the many millions of products I use is, vitamin E gel by SBC. It calms the skin down and generally takes the redness away on the whole face. Its meant to be good for scars.

I’m not having huge breakouts anymore but all the blackheads and white heads I have got and can feel under the surface on my checks and chin are slowly coming to the surface. So I always have new small spots.

Everyone on here says that it takes about a year after your course for scars to fade so you can see what your left with permanently. To be honest I don’t think the roac does anything to help the scaring and if anything I think it makes you scar more easily(not 100% sure but thats what I think????) Personally I have started putting £5 a week away so that in a years time I can have microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. But obviously I would see what my derm recommended.

Good luck!!!
