Hi all,
I forgot to mention in my last post! Has anyone experienced problems with their gums whilst on the drug? Mine are suddenly very sore and tender, and I usually have no problems at all with them!

hey andy,im experiencing the same thing and i am at the exact same stage of treatment as you.my gums a pure raw and seem to be kind of infected.i cant touch them with a toothbrush and its really hard 2 eat..and it actually looks as if something is eating my gums away..i wasnt sure if this was caused by roaccutane as i didnt think it was a side affect,but now i guess maybe it is,because like you i have never had any problems with my gums in the past.i got an antibiotic from the doc..you should get it checked out…

Hey Poxy,
Yeh, i’m off to the dentist tomorrow. I have sore red gums, and i think receding a little bit on some teeth! HOW BAD! So hopefully will get it sorted tomorrow. What antibiotic did ya get. I reckon a short course of metronidazole or Co-amoxiclav will sort it. I’m terrified the dentist will want to pull my teeth out lol.

yea receding thats the word i was looking for.well i got the antibiotic augmentin-duo,2 a day for a week off the doctor,cause bascially my whole mouth was infected gums,tongue,throat and all.horrible!i thought the doc mite have giving me flagl,cause they are usually the antibiotic giving for infection of the gum.but hopefully augmentin will do the job..and i hope ya still av all your teeth when ya come home.he he..have you ever heard of anybody else getting this from roaccutane?cause i avent,and is it down as a side affect in the leaflet?i jus hope it doesnt keep re-occuring.

Hey.
Went to the Dentist. I have an abscess! So on Amoxicillin for a week. The he reckons I’ll need an operation to scrape out a dead root ewww! He reckons my tooth recession is due to me brushing too hard. So i shall be much gentler from now on!
The only reference it makes is “Bleeding gums” in the side effects profile of RoAcc. Nothing else. And several people have reported sore gums.
Hope ya gums get better soon!
