Its been more like 10 days since I started Roaccutane, and its been weird!!

I started on a Friday, and on the following Sunday night had the most horrific migraine I’ve had in a long time, ending in me chucking up at 4am :( I did wonder if this was caused by the Roaccutane, but I’ve never heard this cited as a side effect. I do get migraines regularly and know how to handle them, but this was a beast and I worried a bit as bad migraines would probably be about the only thing to make me quit the tablets. Not had one since though so fingers crossed!

The next morning I had a nose bleed, which again I haven’t had for ages but was prone to as a kid. I’ve just another little one now and I’m looking very attractive with a plug of blood stained tissue up my nose as I type! I think its just the inside of my nose is so dry. I’m gonna get a tub of vaseline as I read a thin coating on the inside of your nose helps.

My skin is still really greasy, as it was in the two weeks between me stopping the antibiotics and starting this course, but at the same time my nose is flaky and I have started to get a tightness and redness all around my mouth, so I look like I’ve been snogging someone with stubble! I wouldn’t mind if it were true!! Dry lips have started big style but Blistex is working well and I’ve found a bit of Germolene at the corners of my mouth before bed has sorted out horrible cracking,

Spot-wise I had some nasty looking yellow heads on my nose for the first few days, think these were made worse by the greasiness, but they have completely gone now and I’m not really getting new spots, its just the old regulars that won’t go away and I’m trying not to touch.

I think I mentioned last time that I’ve started as a The Body Shop at Home consultant, I’ve just ordered their Hemp lip balm and Hemp face protector. The Hemp range is aimed at extra dry skin as the Hemp oil contains fatty acids to repair the moisture barrier. It should arrive tomorrow so I’ll let you know how I get on when I post again, hopefully on Friday.

Hope everyone is doing ok, I haven’t had any low mood yet but I am on a high with this body shop venture at the moment. Take care everyone, Leanne xx

Roaccutane is one of those medications that may cause a condition called benign intracranial hypertension; that may explain of the headache that u had experienced. For some with pre existing migraine problems, eating roaccutane might precipitate attack bouts.
I suggest u make ur headache bouts known to ur dermatologist if the symptom persists.
Good luck and cheers…
