Hi Marie, i don't really have an answer to your question, but am slightly concerned as I have only just started Roac, I'm into my 2nd week now, but I had no idea I wasn't supposed to drink alcohol. I'm a student in my last year of uni, so naturally I went out on Monday, I didn't drink my usual amount as I had one glass of wine and felt extremely tipsy. My dermatologist has not mentioned anything to me about drinking alcohol whilst on roac. He hasn't explained any effects that it might have. Should I be worried? I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow night too.

Hi Neen, I think the kind of 'under the skin' spots which must be a deep blockage, take ages to come out of hiding. Mine have gone from only me knowing they are there, on my chin, to noticeable, red, lumps for the last 8 weeks (out of 15).
I think, to be blunt, if you have a blackhead you can see near the surface in an open pore, you can squeeze it out but you can't do anything about these invisible blockages. Either they have to slowly come to the surface, or as your skin peels you get down to their level, don't know which. I have started treating them to some left-over differin gel as well. But they are at least changing so I am confident it will work.

I'm sure you will (be able to look back!), don't worry! :-)

Most people don't experience massive changes for another couple of weeks so just hang in there, you'll be glad of it in a couple of months time when you're skin's perfect!

Everyone has different expriences it seems.

I've been on roac for two months now and hadn't touched a drop since i started cos i was petrified about what i'd read and what people had said, and generally just thought it would be better for my skin. but i went out fri and sat last weekend and drank normally, as i would, and experinced no difference whatsoever. no major hangover, no sudden spots, nowt.

It's prob better if you don't and if you think you can resist, then resist, but i wouldn't worry too much.
