Well…week 2 brought a few small problems. The inside of my nose started to dry out and bleed, which was nice. I had really bad stomach cramps - I couldn’t even sit down at one point! I also developed 2 large lumps on my forehead. They weren’t red or squeezable - just big lumps like a new head was trying to sprout!Into week 3 I was still suffering on and off with the above pains and I also got quite a bad breakout on my jaw line (as expected with time of the month etc…). But by far the worst thing is the headache that ive had now for 8 days :o( Does anyone know if it’s ok for us to take painkillers with roaccutane? I can’t take ibuprofen as im allergic and usually take anadin, but wasn’t sure if my poor old liver could cope with it..?

Overall I think the non-spotty parts of my skin are looking smoother and the pores are getting smaller. Blackheads also seem easier to extract! I wouldn’t say there is any huge noticeable difference yet but I am only a quarter of the way in! I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I’m off out to celebrate NY tonight but will be sober so should be interesting..!! xx

Hi Claire,
my gp tells me he was part of the team that made roaccutane in the first place, and he happily prescribed me some pretty strong painkillers for something unrelated, so i would assume its all fine. ive also taken plenty of paracetamol in the last 14 weeks and as far as i know my liver tests have all been fine. so yes, i think its probably alright to take painkillers. i probably could have just told you that without the essay, but nevermind.
happy new year,
rich
