I could feel a spot coming through on Monday, it didn’t feel like a bad one, they never do until it’s too late! But it came through and it was a big painful one on my chin, so my confidence was immediately zapped! It’s amazing how just one prominent spot can change your confidence overnight. I was feeling great before this.

So I kept my head down on the train to and from work for the next few days, but it had gone by Friday so I felt better then. No spots over the weekend, I guess I can cope with just 1 spot in 2 weeks. It used to be 1 spot or more every 2 days!

I think I will stock up on a gentle exfoliating wash today. When I wake I’m quite flaky around chin area and on my nose. I’ve noticed that if I simply moisturize these areas without removing these bits of dead skin with a face cloth or tweezers, I crack up and become noticeably flaky when I eat or stretch my mouth in any way. Yesterday I was in a friends car eating and afterwards I noticed my reflection and saw that I’d gone really flaky and dry. I was sort of spitting on my finger and rubbing it on me to moisturize ha ha, like your parents to do you when you’re a child! How embarrassing, can’t believe I’m mentioning this but I’m sure it will make you laugh!

So I guess I need to exfoliate properly now and then to remove this dead skin, can anyone advise on a gentle exfoliating wash? It’s great at the moment, how for example, yesterday I could go out for the day and touch my face near the end of the day and not get grease on my finger. Normally I’d have worried about going out all day because my skin would grease up and I would want to get home to wash, but I was happy being able to not have to worry about this. I need to give a blood test this week as I’ve been on the Roaccutane for one month now, and then see my derm at the end of month to check if everything is ok, all in all another very positive week :o)

Hello Gents,
Been on Roaccutane for 6 weeks now and have just found it impossible to shave under my chin due to the soreness. Have you experienced this before? Any suggestions?
Cheers
Dave
