aj: 2 months after!
January 19th, 2009Well it’s 2 months since I finished my treatment and so far everything is going well. Still got some red marks and scars kicking around which is a bit irritating but no real spots at all.
That’s it really, I hope you’re all doing well!

Soo reassuring to read that. I’m on month 4 and terrified at the prospect of my acne returning once i’m off the roacc.
You must be delighted :)

Hey!
Yeah I was a bit scared about coming off Roacc as well. So much better not having to cope with the back ache! It is great but if I had to, I’d do it all again, it’s been a life changing drug for me.
Month 4, you must be nearly done?

Hi,
I go for my 4 month check up/bloods etc.. (you know the script lol) on Thursday.
As I have only been on 40mg my whole treatment and not upped to my maximum of 50mg (you mentioned back ache, I have been suffering sore joints too so they didn’t up my dose last time – doesnt help that I am still trying to maintain a decent fitness level as I hurt like hell from the gym these days, feels like you age by about 40 years on this drug doesn’t it?!!) then this apparantley means i’ll be on it a little longer than I first thought.
I know what you mean, it is a pretty powerful drug and I have noticed (just in the past month) that I am definetly less tolerant than usual. Can’t wait to be off this.
This is such a great website, so good to chat to people who know exactly what you are going through :)

Well I stayed on 40 mg/day for the whole treatment as well. I was a bit concerned it’d mean an extended treatment (I weigh about 76 kg so 40 mg is far from my max dose).
I found it very frustrating as well, like you I try to keep to a fairly regular gym routine and this was just (literally) a real pain! Even more frustrating, not long after coming off Roacc, I damaged my shoulder so I’m still not back into my routine proper!
People who don’t have to go through this will never understand what it’s like or how important it can be to acne sufferers. That’s why this website is so great, you can see exactly what to expect!
