The weeks just seem to be flying by!

This week I came out with four new small spots. Two were really small and didn’t bother me but the other two were in embarrassing places! I had one on the tip of my nose! Difficult to cover up, so I kept a tissue at my nose pretending I had a cold! Just as that had gone I then got another one right in the middle between my eyebrows!! Luckily they have all dried up now, but the two embarrassing ones have typically left scars!

I am not impressed that I am still getting this many spots a week so far into my treatment!!

Not much else to report this week as there have been no other changes.

I have my fasting blood test to be done this week. I hope my triglyceride level has gone down to a safe level so I can stop worrying about it, as it has been stressing me out.

Fingers crossed…..

I am about 6 weeks in to taking roaccutane and my skin is quite bad, but like you the right side of my face is a lot worse than the left. I am just trying to forget that I’m taking it and hoping that eventually it will help my skin get better. My hands have started getting really dry and my arms are starting to peel a bit, like mild sunburn. I hope you eventually get to take more than 20mg because I am on 50mg and my side effects don’t seem any worse than yours! I hope your skin continues to get better and stays that way :)

Hi KP, thank you for your comment!

As you are on week 6, try not to worry as your skin will get better over the course of your treatment. Mine got much worse, but I kept believing it was getting worse, to get better.. and it has now! So try and remain positive and hang on in there! It is a bit odd that one side improves much quicker and better than the other side, but at least it’s not a full face of spots anymore!

I hope you are managing with the dry skin on your arms and hands. I had a little dry skin early on in the treatment, but none since and sometimes I feel like my skin really isn’t dry enough, that’s why I am still getting spots so far into my treatment. All being well and my triglyceride level goes down, hopefully I can have a higher dose and get rid, once and for all!!

Keep us updated on your progress and I hope things improve for you too!!
