Hi All,
Week 8 is over! 56 days worth of poppin pills. That’s 3920mg of Roacc my body has ingested. My cumulative dose (target) is 7920mg based on the guidelines of 120mg/kg. So another 8 weeks to go! My face is looking okay, it has 3 scabs on one side and a huge scab on the other! My back feels v smooth, but is littered with red marks!
Current side effects giving me grief: Insane tiredness (complete with black bags under eyes: sooo attractive), dry lips, blotchy red skin in places where I have no spots, and I keep blushing for no reason which is embarrassing in public or at work! It must look like someone has shoved a hot ember up my rear-end :o.
Had a Derm appointment this week, who inspected my back and face and uttered the words “working nicely, see you in January”… lol… He is a man of few words. He has given me another 8 weeks of Roacc which takes me to November.
That’s the second time i’ve seen him, and my Jan appointment will be 2 months after completing the Roacc. I didn’t tell him anything about how it is affecting my mood in fear of him changing anything!
I was waiting in the Hospital Pharmacy for my meds, when a girl who was also in the derm clinic came in to sit and wait for her prescription. This girl had scabs on her face, presumably acne which looked quite inflamed and was covered by makeup. A young boy came in with his Mother, who climbed on to this girl’s lap and touched her face where the scabs were shouting “what’s that?”. The poor girl.. her face turned bright red.. and the mother told the boy off for being rude! I looked away and pretended I hadn’t heard the boy shout this across the busy pharmacy. I really wanted to tell her about this site, but thought it rude to!
So i’m past half-way point now (as im two days late writing this!). I’m looking forward to the seeing the better side of the Roacc ‘journey’!
That’s all folks! - Hope anyone reading this is coping well.
