Hi, Iam 29 years old and my acne has returned with a vengance!!…..I’ve had acne since I was 15?..it runs in the family…and when you have dark skin (I’m asian) the scars are baaad!!!…the spots are painful and Iam sure everyone on this site knows that acne is painful ugly and the scars are a reminder that makes you want to cover your head with a paper bag!!!….

eventhough my acne has been on and off and that’s because i’ve used every lotion, position and antibiotic even herbal stuff!!….acne has ruined my life, I wasted alot of my life hiding in my room!!…

but this year I was determind to try roaccutane regardless of the fact that the side effects are the scariest….

fortunately I came across this site and i was delighted…so here goes I am on my fourth day of roaccutane 20mg and ummmm nothing so far?…my skin still rubbish I have acne around my jawline and forehead….

anyway iam also taking iron tablets with roac as my derm said i’m really low on iron..anyone else on iron tabs…can someone let me know when this stuff really kicks in??…thanks (please pray for me iam sooo scared)

Hello Amina, I was advised to take iron suppliments before I started treatment. I just take the bog standard 14mg stuff you can get from anywhere. I think I noticed a difference straight away. I always felt really lethargic before, but now I’m not so much. Never thought it was because of iron deficiency. The derm asked me as soon as I walked in the office whether I ate meat or not (I only eat fish). It must have been really obvious to him that I was missing some vitamins! I was already aware that I was short of Zinc from previous blood tests; also caused by not eating meat. I’ll continue to take these vitamins after I finish the Roac.
