Well, this post is so late that I could almost write up my week 9 report too lol… so I’ll do a mini combo now, then a proper week 9 on Monday.

Week 8, and I’m not even halfway done my treatment yet… I have 24 weeks total :(

Anyways, the huge spots from the breakout I mentioned in week 7 have all dried up and not left much of a mark, I’m really pleased about that. However some tiny pimples remain, as well as two under-the-surface spots on my chin and forehead. I wonder how many breakouts should I be expecting, this is my first and I’ve still got about 16 weeks to go…

In general, my face continues to have a smoother  appearence, though I’ve gotten slightly darker. It has also begun to look oily and shiny again, so i need to wipe it more.

The few spots I got on my back have also dried up. No major spots on my arms, but I noticed about 8 really tiny spots that look exactly the same spread out on my upper right arm. Hmm, we’ll see what happens with this when I post again on monday.

Side effects still minimal- just dry eyes and lips as usual. Unless there’s other stuff going on that I’m wrongfully attributing to causes other than roaccutane.

That’s it for now :)

Hi Amaris,

What dosage are you on and glad to hear things looking up for you. I am due to start Tane shortly and so so nervous! What do you use to moisturise and cleanse with?

Good luck and hope things carry on getting better for you. Will all be worth it and like the saying goes no pain no gain!!!!

Hi Natalie :)

I had moderate but persistent acne and my derm put me on a 6 month course at 40 mg p/day. I only got one breakout, I suppose this is because my dose has never been increased. But I’ve had steady improvement since the breakout went away, this is week 17 for me today and i rarely get a spot. I’m really pleased with the results, it is SOOO worth it, so try not to be too nervous :D

I’ve been using a Neutrogena extra gentle face cleanser the whole time, and haven’t had any problems with it. Occasionally I use a face wash with microbeads to really give my face a good scrub since the cleanser is so gentle.

Wishin you the best of luck ^_^
