Hi all!
During all my courses of Roaccutane I have tried countless products, some good and some not so good. I have decided to compile a list of products I feel to be ”elite”. Please feel free to add any you deem worthy of the list
Simple Moisturising Foaming Facial Wash
- Pure and simple cleansing.
- No colour or fragrance.
- Leaves skin feeling clean, yet not tight or uncomfortable like some face washes do.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser
- If you are confused about which moisturiser to buy, this is a pretty good place to start.
- Fragrance and colour free
- Non-greasy
- All-day moisturisation
- Is a good base for make-up
Eucerin Dry Skin Relief Face Cream with 5% Urea
- Great for those super-dry skin days when your face feels like it is actually peeling off
- Fragrance and colour free
- Non-greasy

Boots Expert Sensitive Daily Defence Moisture Cream SPF 12
- One of my favourite moisturisers ever
- Leaves my skin feeling exceptionally soft and my make up glides on really easily
- Spf 12 – always a bonus when your on roacc!
- Fragrance and colour free
Eumo Base Concentrated Rehydration Cream
- A good option for incredibly dry patches of skin (such as the weird dry circles you get all over your arms)
- Best to apply this at night and wash it off in the morning cos it smells a bit “medical”

VO5 Deep Nourishing shampoo and conditioner for damaged, course or brittle hair
- Love this shampoo and conditioner, leaves my dried out hair feeling really soft and silky.
- Smells FAB
Avent Moisturising Nipple Cream
- A magical yellow gel
- Heals cracks at the corner of your mouth and soothes dry lips
- Doesn’t sting any areas of your lips that have peeled off and are sore

Coppertone Oil-Free Sunscreen Lotion Faces SPF 30
- Oil-free
- Provides a high SPF
- Won’t clog pores
- Fragrance and colour free
- Water-resistant
Sunsense Daily Face SPF 60

- Suitable for sensitive skin
- Very high SPF
- Will not clog pores
- Can be used underneath your make-up
- Another good option for holiday-goers
Maybelline Wonder Finish liquid-to-powder foundation
- Only just discovered this foundation and think it’s awesome
- Provides SPF 15
- Won’t clog pores
- Fragrance-free
- Really easy to blend
- Looks natural

Maybelline Express Makeup Stick 3 in 1
- Provides SPF 15
- Oil-free

- Lucas Paw Paw Ointment
- Prolagene by Decleor

Awww!!!
OMG.. this is such a good idea *writes Boots shopping list and wonders where my Boots advantage card is?!*. I already have the simple wash and eucerin. I must get the suncream.. and *cough* nipple cream. :p
Thanks Abi – you’re a star.
xx
Boots advantage cards are awesome! 4 points to every pound!!!!!!
brilliant list. i’m off to buy nipple cream tomorrow. not a product that would’ve immediately sprung to mind but makes sense that it does the trick. thanks abi!
Hello nabootheenigma!
Yeah, buying nipple cream for your lips does seem pretty bizarre when some1 first suggests it to you, but then when you think about the fact mothers use it to heal cracked and sore nipples after breast-feeding, it only seems obvious that it should also help heal sore and cracked lips
i’ll say!
can i add a top tip to this? eye drops – optrex is pretty expensive, but hypromellose eye drops do the same job and a bottle of that was only £1.89. i love my local pharmacist!
Can I also add something to your list? Nivea Essential Lip Balm….blessing in disguise! Vaseline wasnt’ working for me but Nivea…the relief is amazing
!
Lucas Paw Paw ointment!!! in a red tub is the best stuff in the world for dry lips, patches etc….
Hiii Abi!! Great list i’ve just started on Roac 3 days ago and am gonna go buy the nipple cream ready for the dry lips!!
There is a gel i have been using for a couple of months that has been incredible at soothing the skin and fading scars, and it bizarely it works better at treating acne than any of the medical topical treatments i have been prescribed. Its called Prolagene by Decleor.. its a bit expensive but well worth it. Im hoping that it will also help with the dry skin in the following months xx
Hi AngelFaerie!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply, i didn’t notice I had a comment on here. I have added you’re recommended product to the list!
How’s your treatment going for you? Hope the nipple cream is helping with the dry lips!
