Hiyaa everyone!!
Well my skin is still pretty much 100% clear apart from a few very tiny little red bump things on my chin. My aunt and my sister came down at the weekend because it was my mums b’day and they both remarked upon how much my skin had improved since they last saw me (about a month ago) so that was really nice
.
I’m starting to get fed up of the sunny weather as it means I become a hermit, although I have found several oil and fragrance-free spf products so that is pretty helpful.
My hair is GLORIOUS at the moment. It hasn’t dried out too much, but it stays really fresh and clean looking for a good 4 days after washing. The flaky scalp is still rather irritating but I’m just putting up with it at the moment as I’m so happy my skin is clear.
I had a derm appointment last week. He seemed pretty pleased with my skin. I am not having to have any blood tests this time round as I have always been fine on my previous 2 courses. This is great because when you go private the blood tests can cost about £70. The pregnancy tests are also £24 at the private hospital. However, me and my mum had the cunning idea that I could get a pregnancy test done at the local doctors for free and then take the piece of paper stating I am not pregnant to my derm appointments, meaning a saving of almost £100 throughout my whole course!
Hope you are all doing okay

Hi abi,
atI have had bad skin for four years and have heard of the dangers of this drug.
btw your skin looks fabulous.
I too have been on the rannge of drugs and creams, though my acne is only on my forehead(which is covered in tiny bumps) and my t-zone.
I often wound up crying due to looking at myself in the mirror, and my self-awarness is way down.
Do you reckon cause it is only a mild case i will only be on for a little while compared to 4 months.
Though it is mild it looks grotesque, and i dont like the way i look,
i hate going into photos and going out with friends cause of it.
When did you start to see a real noticable difference?
And when you put on like the mineral make-up did- at the end of the day- the dry skin appear through it??
if you know what i mean.
Please reply back.
i need your help.

Hiya Sar,
I’m sorry to hear you are feeling unhappy
If i were you, i would get on the Roaccutane. The side effects of this drug can sound scary, but if you read everybodys diaries on this site, they are manageable, and the main issues are dry skin and lips, both of which can be controlled by good products.
After trying loads of tablets and creams I was so relieved to take Roaccutane as it was the first thing that genuinely worked. I normally start to see a difference after about 2 months, but it can be earlier or later depending on your dose etc.
I havn’t had a problem wearing make up whilst on Roaccutane aslong as I moisturised my skin well beforehand.
I think you should go have a chat with your dermatologist and maybe ask to start Roaccutane at a low dose to see how you get on with it.
If you want to ask me any more questions let me know if you have msn
or just write to me on here,
Abs
